Ms. Yim M. Lok, Certified Orthotist and Certified Pedorthist
Yim Lok has a B.Sc. from York University in Psychology. She received her Clinical Methods in Orthotic and Prosthetic Diploma from George Brown College in 1983. Her clinical training included rotations at the Chedoke-McMaster Hospital, West Park Hospital and the Bloorview-MacMillian Children's Centre. She started her career at the Hospital for Sick Children where she gained valuable experience in the areas of burns, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and orthopaedic conditions such as club feet and scoliosis.
By developing the orthotic program at an adult Prosthetic/Orthotic facility and later becoming a manager of a pedorthotic centre, Yim has widened her scope of practice to include clients of all ages.
Presently, Yim works closely with Orthopaedic surgeons of the Centenary Health Centre, St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto Western Hospitals and North York General. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists, the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists, the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics, Pedorthic Association of Canada, College of Pedorthics of Canada, American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, and the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Ms. Melanie Freedman, Certified Orthotist
Melanie Freedman has a B.A.hon in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University. She received her Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician diploma from George Brown College in 2001. She then went on to complete her Clinical Methods in Orthotics and Prosthetics diploma. Her clinical training included rotations at Chedoke-McMaster Hospital, West Park Hospital, Sunnybrook Hospital, Bloorview-MacMillan Chilldren's Center and the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Hospital.
Melanie came to Back2feet after working at a facility in eastern Ontario where she gained experience in adult and pediatric lower extremity orthotics, particularly working with people with diabetes and arthritis
Melanie recently served as Secretary for the Ontario Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists. She is also a member of the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists and the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Ms. Laura Richardson, Certified Pedorthist
Laura Richardson has over 10 years of experience in foot-care. She received her Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician diploma from George Brown College in 1998. Before coming to Back2feet in 2008, Laura trained and worked at various private Foot-Care Clinics within the Toronto area.
In 1999 she began her training to be a certified Pedorthist and Technician. Laura has been certified and a member of both the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics of Canada since 2000.
